Since 2016 Brooklyn Running Company has hosted one of the best road races in New York City; The Brooklyn Mile. It takes you under the Williamsburg bridge, down Kent avenue ending at riverside park, which has awesome views of Manhattan and the Empire State Building. The support and momentum that has built throughout this summer season has been incredible. On Sunday it materialized into so many great mile efforts allowing Brooklyn Track Club to have the largest showing of any club at the Brooklyn Mile. We had over 65 runners race down Kent Ave and many others out there cheering us on. Congratulations to everyone and thank you for coming out to support the squad! Big shout out to our marathoners who dropped all the way down to take on an intense Mile while most are at the height of their training cycles! A few highlights:
Next up - I am excited to announce Nike Running has invited BKTC out to Oregon this upcoming weekend to race the grueling 198 mile relay race Hood to Coast. News and updates to come from the squad traveling west. Heading into September - the 5th Avenue Mile is on September 9th (sign up now) with the Berlin Marathon the following Sunday September 16th - I can not wait to watch the squad take on the field at 5th Ave and to have the Berlin crowd officially kick off fall marathon season!
