James has been coaching since 2012 while also having competed and served as Team Captain for the North Brooklyn Runners / another local club. He recruited and coached a number of top contributors on NBR to numerous team records and top team finishes and is excited to contribute to Brooklyn Track Club's future success. James continues to race as a competitive masters runner specializing in the middle distances.
He was an 800 meter runner on a Princeton University program that won 3 consecutive triple crowns (Ivy League Champions in Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track & Field) for a total of 11 league titles in 12 seasons. In high school, he was an Indoor 800m Connecticut State Class L champion, Greater Hartford Invitational Cross Country winner, and six-time All-State selection. He sports PRs of 1:58 for 800m, 4:27 for the mile, 8:54 for 3000m, and 1:15 for half marathon. Currently, James works in Research & Analytics at the New York Stock Exchange.
