Lena Placzek grew up in Poznan, Poland where she competed on the Polish National Track and Field Team between ages 15-20. During these years she was top 3 in the country in 800 and 1500m on the track and qualified to race at the World Cross Country Championships in 2010.
She moved to America in 2010 to attend University of Iowa and compete on their Division I NCAA Track and Field and Cross Country Teams.
Lena’s passion for running, strength training and performance started very early and it wasn’t a surprise that she went on to pursue a degree in Human Physiology and shortly after graduating from the University of Iowa moved to New York City to start her career as a Fitness Specialist and a Performance Coach.
For the past 6 years Lena has been working with many athletes helping them become stronger on and off the field and with the general population spreading the love for movement and exercise anywhere she goes. 15 years of personal experience with running, education in Human Physiology, Movement and Strength Training and her passion for helping others in being the best version of themselves makes her a one of a kind coach who will change the way you look at your training and your goals.
After a longer break from competitive running, Lena returned to running herself when she found Brooklyn Track Club in 2016. Since then she ran a 4:58 mile, 1:23:11 in a half marathon, and finished her first marathon in 2:56:26 in 2019.
